The Newton Firm is headed by brothers Chris and Mike Newton. Together with Charlie Poss, who serves as an of counsel attorney, they bring their clients over 70 years of legal and business expertise. All of the Newton Firm attorneys spent most of their careers representing and working with large corporations and insurance companies. Having developed their skills over many years, they now focus their representation on individuals, families and small businesses. They know how the "big guys" think, and they have honed their considerable skills while representing and working for them. This experience now brings their clients a depth of inside knowledge not typically found in other firms of their size.
Mike is a trusted and tested lawyer. He spent a majority of his career as a partner in a large regional law firm where he represented national insurers, 'big box' retail stores, national restaurant chains and other major corporations and businesses. From automobile accidents, slip and fall incidents, workers compensation claims and dog bite cases to defective products and tractor-trailer accidents, Mike has a broad range of trial and litigation experience. He has handled matters throughout Tennessee and Georgia and in a number of other states including Pennsylvania, Virginia and Illinois.
Mike's hard work and commitment has earned him recognition from his clients, his peers and the legal industry. He is one of a small number of lawyers who have been designated as a Board Certified Civil Trial Specialist by the National Board of Trial Advocacy. He has also been recognized as a Mid-South Super Lawyer since 2013.
Mike's practice is now focused on helping individuals and families who have been injured or suffered a loss due to the fault or negligence of another person or company. Mike's 'inside' expertise and knowledge gives his clients the advantage needed to secure full compensation for their injuries and losses.
Chris brings over twenty-five years of legal and business experience to the Newton Firm, PC.
